Unfortunately Gaspard had to leave the trips for three to four weeks to France following a problem with his hand. This lead to a very long hug and sad goodbye. Fortunately he should be able to join Javi in Marakesh for the rest of the trip. 🙂
Since our night in Tordesillas, Gaspard was feeling like something was going on in his hand. He was losing sensitive abilities in the two last fingers of his right hand and the strength to hold objects in his hand.
After realising that additionally some of his fingers would not fully extend and his condition was not getting better he went to the emergency in Merida. As this wasn’t considered as a medical emergency he was sent out of the Hospital without any specific advise. The trip could continue!
The following day, a friend of his, doctor in France intented to examine him remotely (sending videos on whatsapp back and forth). His advice was to go back to France immediately as an operation might be needed in the coming days. Following his advice Gaspard took a bus to Sevilla and a flight from Sevilla to Paris for the next day.
After a couple of different tests we found out that one of his nerf was damaged at his wrist level. He is now in Paris waiting for his body to do its job.
This is very unfortunate and sad but they are worst things in life and there should be no long term damage (yeah!).
